FOR-M, Inc., operator of the MKE Tech Hub Coalition, (the “Company” or “we”) recognizes the importance of keeping your personal information private. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to describe how the Company collects, uses, and shares information about you through online interfaces owned or operated by the Company and related electronic communications. 

By using our Site (as defined below) or providing us your e-mail address and other personal information, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

The Interactions this Policy Covers

This Policy applies only to information we collect at and through websites owned and controlled by the Company, including but not limited to, www.mketech.org and related mobile applications (collectively, the “Site”), and related electronic communications. 

This Policy does not apply to any website owned or operated by or communications sent by any third party, even if such third party website or communication links to the Site or if the Site or communication contains links to the third party website. Please pay attention when you leave our Site and read and understand the privacy statements of those third party websites that may also collect your personal information.

How We Collect Information and Types of Information We Collect

User Provided Information

Certain features on the Site enable customers and potential customers to provide the Company with certain personal information that we may use to contact or identify you. This information may include, but is not limited to, identifiers (e.g. first and last name, e-mail address, phone number, facsimile number, mailing address and IP address), billing address, payment information, company name and position or title, other commercial information, records of membership and internet activity (e.g., information on your interactions with the Site).

We may collect this information when you:

  • Create an account at our Site;
  • Sign up for email updates;
  • Request support
  • Provide feedback regarding your experience on our Site;
  • Request information about our promotions and advertising on our Site;
  • Are referred to us through a marketing promotion; or
  • Participate in a marketing survey, promotion or event

If you contact us through electronic communication, we typically retain the email in our file servers and collect any contact information you provide so that we can reply to you.  Your email also contains metafiles that may contain IP addresses, domain names, and other standard file information and this information may be retained electronically on our servers or in routine back-up files.

If you browse the Site, regardless of whether you create an account, purchase any products or otherwise interact with the Site, the Company logs your IP address (the internet address of your computer) to tell us which parts of the Site you visit and how long you spend there. The Company will also track the state and/or country you are accessing the internet from, the date and time you visited and the type of computer, operating system and Web browser you are using. Your browser supplies us with this information.

The Site may also collect personal information from you about a third party (e.g., the Site might allow you to send an email or message to a friend, in which case we will need that person’s name and email address). Please note that we use such information for the specified purpose (e.g., to deliver the email message) and we will not contact the third party again by email unless and until the third party contacts us or provides permission to do so.

Cookies, Web Analytics and Other Tracking Technology

Cookies

The Company may use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies or scripts to store certain information when you interact with the Site.  We use these technologies to enhance your experience in using the Site, improve our Site and provide customized services and information.  Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to your computer’s memory and hard drive when you visit certain websites.  Some cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser (“temporary cookies”), while others can be stored longer on your computer, sometimes until you delete them manually (“persistent cookies”).  For example, we may use cookies to collect information about website activity or to tell us whether you are an existing or new visitor to our Site.  If you do not wish to accept cookies from the Site, you may configure your web browser so that it does not accept cookies; however, you may lose certain functions available on the Site.  To learn more about cookies, please visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.

Web Analytics   

We use web analytics tools, including, but not limited to, Google Analytics, which is a third-party service that transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States. Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.  We use reports provided by Google Analytics to help us understand Site traffic, and web page usage. We use the information provided by these tools to improve our services and our online advertisements. These tools place session and persistent cookies in your browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit our Site. Each cookie cannot be used by anyone other than the service provider (ex: Google Analytics). The information collected from the cookie may be transmitted to and stored by these service partners on servers in a country other than the country in which you reside, including the United States.

Log Files

Our servers automatically record certain information (e.g., web request, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser language, URLs, etc.) that your web browser sends whenever you visit our Site. We use this information for statistical purposes that help us design and administer the Site.

Use and Sharing of Information 

We always want to provide you with the best possible experience. In order to do this, we collect personal information that allows us to:

  • Answer your questions;
  • Customer service;
  • Obtain and make payments;
  • Send you promotional offers we believe will be of interest to you;
  • Send you email updates;
  • Identify your product and service preferences;
  • Customize our communications to you;
  • Improve our customer service;
  • Provide, maintain and improve our Site;
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage and activities in connection with the Site;
  • Provide aggregated data to third parties; and
  • Engage in other activities in the normal course of operating a non-profit membership-based organization. 

We may also disclose your personal information to our third party service providers, including, but not limited to, service providers that help us market our products and services, deliver our products, process orders, perform market research, promotions management and otherwise assist us in running our business. For example, if you make a purchase through the Site, the Company will share your information with the Company’s payment card processing service provider. 

The Company may share personally identifiable or other information with our parent, subsidiaries, divisions, and affiliates.

When someone visits the Site, our web server’s third party-tracking tool may automatically gather information that allows the Site to communicate with the visitor’s computer during the visit. We also may use any of the following information: the number of visits to the Site, which parts of the Site visitors select, IP address (the Internet address assigned to your computer from your Internet Service Provider), domain type, browser type (e.g., Apple Safari, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Internet Explorer) and date and time of day. We use this information for statistical purposes that help us design and administer the Site. Those types of information do not disclose personally identifiable information that would permit us to identify or locate individual visitors.

Additionally, we may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) satisfy applicable law, a legal order or comply with legal process; (b) defend the rights of the Company’s or its affiliates or business partners; (c) detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues or (d) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of the Company employees, agents, affiliates, business partners, customers or Site users.

If the ownership of all or substantially all of our business changes or we otherwise transfer all or part of our assets relating to our business or the Site to a third-party, such as by merger, acquisition, bankruptcy proceeding, joint venture, partnership or otherwise, we may transfer or sell your personal information to the new owner. In such a case, unless you agree differently or unless otherwise permitted by applicable law, your information would remain subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this privacy policy.

Except as set forth in this policy, the Company will not sell your personal information to any other organization unless you expressly agree to it (typically by checking a box indicating your consent).

Other Websites 

Please be aware that our Site and email communications may contain links to other websites on the Internet that are owned and operated by third parties. The information practices of those websites linked to our Site are not covered by this Privacy Policy and, therefore, we are not responsible for the content or privacy policies of websites to which our Site links. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of other websites to understand their privacy practices. 

The Company is active on social media pages, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter, and the Company integrates social media widgets or features on the Site. These social media companies may recognize you and collect information about your visit to the Site, and they may set a cookie or employ other tracking technologies. Your interactions with those features are governed by the privacy policies of those companies.  The Company may display targeted advertising to you through such social media platforms.  Such social media companies have interest-based advertising programs that allow the Company to direct advertisements to users who have shown interest in our products when you visit a social media platform. These advertisements are governed by the privacy policies of those social media companies that provide them.

Any information you submit in a public forum (e.g. a blog, chat room, or social network) can be read, collected, or used by us and others, and could be used to personalize your experience. You are responsible for the information you choose to submit in these instances. Though we do attempt to monitor user-posted content, such user-posted material is not subject to this Privacy Policy.

Aggregated Data

The Company may take personal and business information and aggregate data so that it is no longer identifiable. The Company may use this information to enhance the features of its Site and services. The Company may also sell or license this aggregated information to third parties or publish the information. The Company will take reasonable precautions to ensure that such aggregated information does not contain any confidential or otherwise identifiable data that could be used to identify its source. 

Access to Your Information 

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information in certain circumstances. You also have the right to withdraw any consent you have given the Company to process your personal information. If you have questions about the personal information the Company has about you, need to modify, access or delete your information, or want to withdraw your consent for the Company to process your personal information, you can contact us as provided below. 

You can opt-out of receiving marketing and promotional e-mails from the Company by using the opt-out or unsubscribe feature contained in our emails.  

Security Measures 

We maintain appropriate technical, administrative and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information you provide against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use. 

However, since no method of Internet transmission is 100% secure, the Company cannot guarantee, ensure or warrant the security of any personal information you transmit to the Company. Although we will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of any visitor or other personal information collected, we shall have no liability for disclosure of any visitor information obtained due to errors in transmission or through the unauthorized acts of third parties. 

Storage of Personal Information

We will keep your personal information until you contact us and tell us to modify or delete it from our servers or until we determine that the personal information is no longer needed to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. The Company will also retain and use your personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect our assets, and enforce our agreements.

Transfer of Personal Information

The Company is based in the United States and our Site is designed for users from the United States.  Any information collected through the Site or electronic communications as described in this Privacy Policy will be stored and processed in the United States. The United States is not recognized as having adequate safeguards. If you are located outside of the United States, please note that we may transfer information, including personal information, to a country and jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction, and you consent to the transfer of information to the United States.

Children 

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Children are not encouraged to use the Site and we request that children under the age of 13 not submit any personal information to the Site. Since information regarding children under the age of 13 is not collected, we do not knowingly distribute personal information regarding children under the age of 13. 

Changes and Updates to this Privacy Policy

If you choose to visit our Site, your visit and any disputes over privacy are subject to this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time without notice except as otherwise provided here. Please check back periodically to see if our Privacy Policy has been updated. Your continued use of the Site constitutes your agreement to the terms of this Privacy Policy and any future versions of this Privacy Policy. 

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, this Privacy Policy, and the Company’s collection and use of personal information, shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Wisconsin.
